NCE Administration
Jennifer Magnusson
Principal
Dear North Cumberland Families,
I am excited to be the Principal of North Cumberland Elementary School for my fifth year! Previously, I worked at North as Assistant Principal, and before that, I spent twenty years as a classroom teacher, working in Cumberland County, as well as in Nashville and in Texas. I feel so fortunate to be returning to our school this year, and I thank you in advance for supporting me in this position!
North Cumberland is a place where strong connections are made between home and school and where all faculty and staff members are committed to developing the whole child. I value both of these characteristics and am thrilled for the opportunity to help continue moving each Patriot along the path of excellence.
In my eyes, one of the most important aspects of my work as North Cumberland's principal is building solid relationships with students, families and teachers. It will be very important to me to be in the hallways and classrooms and getting to know your child(ren) better. In my past experience, I have found that kids really appreciate a person who genuinely invests in them and who is fair in decision making. These two things are extremely important to me.
In addition to building strong relationships with all of you, it will be particularly valuable to me to make sure that your child and you feel safe and welcome at our school. If you ever have a concern about a specific situation or procedure please do not hesitate to call or email me. Communication is paramount in a school. For this reason, I will always encourage you to contact us with questions.
I feel very lucky to be the principal at North. We have fantastic programs, teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members. North is a school that has many things to be proud of, and I'm so happy to be working with each one of you!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Magnusson

Sharon Miller
Vice-Principal
Hello North Cumberland Family,
My name is Sharon Miller and I am excited to be back at NCE. Everyone has made me feel so welcome here. This is truly a great school culture. Our students are working hard and our scores reflect that. Our staff is working diligently to improve on current strengths and push our students towards higher achievement. Extracurricular events in clubs, dances, athletics, and festivals also enhance our school. Kids have so many wonderful opportunities here.
I look forward to seeing you this year. Please contact me if I can be of any assistance. Our pep rally cheer asks, "Are you proud to be a Patriot?" Yes, I am!!
Additional notes from Mrs. Miller...
Hi North Families!
Attendance Matters! As a reminder, our school day begins at 7:45 and ends at 2:45.
It is vital for children to develop good habits at an early age and to learn that school is important. We need all parents to set a good example by having their children arrive at school on time, not taking their children early, and not allowing their children to miss school unless they are ill or there is a family emergency. “Every minute matters!”
When students arrive late or leave early, they miss out on essential instructional time. This can significantly reduce achievement, regardless of academic ability. Furthermore, when a student arrives late or leaves early, it disrupts the entire class.
As always, we appreciate your continued support!!!
